{About Us}

Who we are

The Federation of Olympiad Programming (registration code 43541861) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation which, since 2020, has coordinated the running of informatics olympiads in Ukraine and secured the Ukrainian national team’s participation in international competitions. It is headed by Anton Tsypko.

We sell no goods and no services. Taking part in the olympiads we run is free for school students, and the costs are met by partners and by donations.

What we do

  • organising the Ukrainian Junior and Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics;
  • running the stages of the Ukrainian Olympiad in Informatics;
  • securing the Ukrainian national team’s participation in international and European olympiads;
  • preparing the problems for the national stages;
  • running selection and training camps ahead of the European and international olympiads;
  • raising charitable funds to pay for trips, camps and prizes.

Since 2025 the Federation has been developing a separate programme — olympiads in artificial intelligence.

How we started

The Federation was founded in 2020 in the COVID-19 time by former participants and coaches due to the impossibility of holding face-to-face Olympiads in accordance with the Regulations of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science.

In 2020 and 2021, we organized alternative Ukrainian Olympiads in Informatics, the winners of which took part in International Olympiads.

In 2022, due to the russian invasion, we organized the selection of the national team in Poland and took part in the International Olympiad in Indonesia.

Since then the final of the Ukrainian Junior and Girls’ Olympiad has been held in Kraków and the selection camps in Wrocław: an in-person round still cannot be run safely in Ukraine, and without one there is neither a team nor any way to prepare it.

Who this is for

School students. Taking part is free. Hundreds of students go through our olympiads each year, and a few dozen of the strongest reach the teams that represent Ukraine abroad. How to start is on the FAQ.

Teachers and schools. We run the stages, publish the problems and the results, and past years’ problems stay available for preparation.

Everyone else. The database holds the names, schools, years and results of participants in the Ukrainian, European and international olympiads — an open archive of what has happened in Ukrainian competitive programming.

How this is funded

We sell nothing and charge nothing for taking part. A season is covered by partners’ contributions and by donations; what the money is for, and how much is needed, is written on that page.
