International Olympiad 2022
The International Olympiad in Informatics ran from 7 to 15 August 2022 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, with the Ukrainian team taking part.
349 participants from 88 countries around the world took part in the olympiad. Most of them were able to fly to Indonesia, while some competed online. The Ukrainian team consisted of:
- Roman Yanushevskyi, a graduate of Kyiv Natural Sciences Lyceum No. 145, finished 7th, winning a gold medal. Roman was the best contestant from Europe and posted the best result by a Ukrainian since 2005.
- Oleh Naver, a graduate of Kremenchuk Lyceum Polit, finished 14th, winning a gold medal. Oleh became the most decorated Ukrainian in the whole history of the olympiad — two gold medals and one silver.
- Vladyslav Denysiuk, a graduate of Khmelnytskyi Lyceum No. 17, finished 59th, winning a silver medal.
- Daryna Karpenko, a 10th-grade student (as of the 2021–2022 academic year) of Khmelnytskyi Gymnasium No. 1, finished 137th, winning a bronze medal.
The Ukrainian team was the best team from Europe and also finished 6th in the overall team ranking. This is our team's best result since 2005.
The team leaders were Anton Tsypko and Valentyn Melnyk.
Roman and Oleh were prepared for the olympiad by Valentyn Melnyk, and Vladyslav and Daryna by Andrii Popyk.
