Balkan Olympiad 2023
The Balkan Olympiad in Informatics ran in Maribor, Slovenia, from the 29th of October to the 3rd of November. 72 participants from 17 countries took part in the olympiad.
The Ukrainian team won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
The team consisted of:
- Andrii Smutchak, an 11th-grade student of Natural Sciences Lyceum No. 145 of the Pechersk district of Kyiv, finished 4th and received a gold medal (coach — Andrii Popyk);
- Ihnat Zharikhin, an 11th-grade student of Kharkiv Academic Lyceum No. 45, finished 15th and received a silver medal (coach — Mykola Arzubov);
- Alisa Potomkina, an 11th-grade student of the “Akademiia” Gymnasium of the city of Kyiv, finished 22nd and received a bronze medal (coach — Valentyn Melnyk);
- Denys Tereshchenko, an 11th-grade student of the “Optima” Education Centre of the city of Kyiv, finished 26th and received a bronze medal (coach — Valentyn Melnyk).
The team leaders were Serhii Kolodiazhnyi and Melisa Haliba. The trip was organised by the Federation of Olympiad Programming. It was fully sponsored by Citadel LLC.
