Winning the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics!


From August 16 to 22, the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics was held in Chișinău, Moldova, in which 98 participants from 26 countries took part.


The Ukrainian national team received two gold medals and two silver medals. In the medal standings, our team became the best together with the Romanian team. This is the best performance of our national team at this Olympiad.



The team included:

🥇 Maksym Shvedchenko, a 9-th grade student of the Kharkiv Academic Lyceum No. 45 (coaches - Valentyn Melnyk, Andrii Popyk, Mykola Arzubov and Maryna Gladkikh), received a gold medal;

🥇 Daria Perekopska, a 9-th grade student of the Dnipro Scientific Lyceum of Information Technologies (coach - Valentyn Melnyk), received a gold medal;

🥈 Dmytro Strakhal, a 9-th grade student of the Novodofinivsk gymnasium (coach — Valentyn Melnyk), received a silver medal;

🥈 Kseniia Strelbytska, a 9-th grade student of the Vinnytsia Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 17 (coaches — Valentyn Melnyk and Andrii Popyk), received a silver medal.

The team leaders were Serhii Zhukovskyi and Maryna Nadtochii. The trip was organized by the Federation of Olympiad Programming of Ukraine. The trip was sponsored by Citadel.
